Welcome to the Western Slope Service Area

The Western Colorado Council, Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1942 and recently merged with the Denver Area Council forming the Western Slope Service Area. The Western Slope Service Area serves around 2,400 youth members and around 1,000 volunteer adult leaders through Scout units in fifteen counties of northwestern Colorado. The Western Slope Service Area is comprised of three districts: Grand Mesa District (Mesa County), Majestic Mountain District (Hinsdale, Gunnison, Ouray, San Miguel, Montrose and Delta counties), and Three Rivers District (Garfield, Eagle, Summit, Pitkin, Moffat, Routt, Grand, and Rio Blanco counties).

On behalf of the Scouts and Scouters of Western Colorado, we want to extend a warm welcome to you. You are part of the nation's foremost character development organization for youth! Scouting embraces the values of the Scout Law, encouraging Scouts to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrigy, brave, clean, and reverent. These come to youth in all parts of the program - all while they're having a great time with their friends and families.

We hope that orient yourself with the resources available to you through scouting and on our website. Please see the list and links below for more information on ways to connect to scouting.
